The DDSS has served as an engine for the Dodowa Health Research Centre, providing
sampling frames for various research projects most of which are ongoing projects and other health-related activities in the district.
For Round 1 in addition to collecting updates on births, deaths, pregnancies and migrations, detailed information on socio-economic status was collected.
In Round 2 the additional form was a health status form to capture information on conditions of interest to the health sector and the research team.
Some of the health conditions of interest were schistosomiasis, tuberculosis, goitre and hypertension. The team also added GIS mapping to its list ofactivities and work of the GIS unit will be presented separately.
